All the home based businesses I see that seem to offer good pay are ones where you have to buy their product, sell their product, and try to get other people to buy and sell their product. When I say “sell”, I mean anything where I have to make a pitch to someone, even if I am not directly selling the product. I do not want to do this.
I don’t want to be involved with the business’s customers or trying to recruit other people to sell their products. I would much prefer to do something that doesn’t involve a lot of phone calls (training on the phone is OK). Anything using the computer is good.
I am trying to make about $1000/month or more to pay student loans. I can spend up to 20 hours/week, mostly on Saturday & Sunday.
I have a 4yr. degree in Aerospace Engineering, and currently work as a Systems Engineer for a global Defense Contractor. (I included this information in case it helps somehow, but my home business doesn’t need to be related to this background at all.)
Mexico4me – You are right. I guess when I say I am looking for a “business”, that is incorrect. I am looking for a “job” that I can do at home part time for extra income. At the job I am working full time at, I do none of those things because other people in the company do it.

I install and service phone systems for medium to large companies. I want to increase my sales of new systems but don’t want a permanent salesman. Where could I find a marketeer and what percentage would I have to pay for a sale? Should I also offer a percentage of future sales and for how long? Straight commission is what I have in mind and I don’t want to be “oversold” so that I have to expand or can’t handle the work load.
